Green Tips, Tricks, Recommendations, & More
I created this website as a place to share the incredible knowledge, tips, and tricks that I’ve been gathering since I began my green journey in 2009. In that time, I’ve learned that with the right habits and skills, it is easy being green.
If you look around, it’s not hard to see that there is an increasing consciousness about the food that we eat and how it affects our health and the world around us. Food – real food – is powerful. It has power to nourish and to heal. Best of all, food has the power to prevent.
I’m very interested in prevention. I want to treat my own body right so that I can live in the best health possible for a good long life, and more importantly, I want to keep my husband healthy after his batter with cancer and his successful healing.
My life has changed so much since I started incorporating green smoothies and green juice into my daily life. I could never have imagined how good I could feel by starting each morning by blasting my body with the powerful phytonutrients of green vegetables.
I hope that you find this site to be helpful, and please, if you have any questions, just ask.

Spinach, raspberries, and banana form the basis for this favourite morning smoothie.
This is perhaps my very favourite smoothie, and though it’s considered a “green” smoothie, the deep colour of the raspberries actually has it coming out red.
NB: First, you’ll need a high powered blender. Raspberries have very tiny seeds and...Read More »

The word “superfood” is thrown around a lot, and there are truly an amazing number of foods that are wonderful for your health. Recently, I realized that the delicious Banana Nut Bread Tea from David’s Tea that I’d been enjoying includes artificial flavouring! What a drag! I felt really disappointed when I realized it, and apparently almost all of their teas have artificial flavouring. I’ve been hooked on the banana bread, so I...Read More »
Romaine has surprisingly tangy side when juiced, which works perfectly with the salty celery and the flavourful sauerkraut. Juicing raw sauerkraut, and including some of the probiotic liquid from the sauerkraut, is the number one tip I’ve picked up since I began juicing. It’s a terrific idea flavour-wise, and the perfect...Read More »

A delicious and blood sugar balancing combination of swiss chard and cucumber with just a hint of green apple.
Swiss chard leaves contain polyphenol antioxidants, at least 13 different kinds! These include kaempferol, the cardioprotective flavonoid that’s also found in broccoli and kale, strawberries. Chard is also full of syringic acid which has special...Read More »
I love carrot juice, and of course I do enjoy the usual blend of carrot and beet juice that you often see. Ginger is also a great compliment to carrot. You also often see carrot with apple, but carrot is sweet on its own so I don’t think the apple...Read More »
