Ok, this smoothie doesn’t have any green in it… it’s all orange! Energize your day with this healthy smoothie that includes one of my favourite ingredients; butternut squash. Yes, you can have butternut squash raw, and it makes a lovely, frothy smoothie. The combination of the citrus of the orange and the spice of the ginger with that hint of turmeric is really unique. I hope you enjoy it!
Oh, and by the way, I was inspired to make this smoothie from Jessica Gavin‘s orange and carrot smoothie combination.
NB: You’ll need a high powered blender for this one! I have a Vitamix, but I guess a Blendtec would also work well.
Recipe – 2 Servings
- 1 seedless orange, peel and pith removed
- 1 cup raw butternut squash, cubed
- 1 banana (preferably frozen)
- 14oz. water
- 1 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- stevia to taste
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
