It’s important to balance the produce that you put into your green juice so that there’s a mix of high water content produce (like cucumbers) and lower water content produce (like leafy greens). This keeps the price of your juice down, speeds up the juicing process, and works better for overall flavour.
I came across a nice recipe by Isabel Smith that uses zucchini as the high water content vegetable. Zucchini is also great for your potassium level.
Ingredients
- 2 medium zucchinis
- 4 kale leaves
- 1 green apple
- 1/2 lemon (roughly chop off the peel first)
- nub of ginger
Instructions
Chop your vegetables so that they’ll fit in your juicer and for best results, alternate between each kind of ingredient; a piece of zucchini, a kale leaf, a piece of apple, a chunk of lemon.
